NEDA, PLGU CamSur conduct Stakeholders Consultation Workshop on RPFP, RDP

The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), in partnership with the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, conducted the Provincial Stakeholders Consultation Workshop for the Formulation of the Regional Physical Framework Plan (RPFP) and Regional Development Plan (RDP) on September 20, 2022 at the Capitol Convention Center.

Over 160 participants comprising of local chief executives, provincial agencies, LGUs, and NGOs/CGOs, attended the consultation workshop to gather inputs for the RPFP 2021-2050 and RDP 2023-2028, to address the present local developmental issues, and to create long-term action plans that will consider sustainable development, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation concepts.

The activity included discussions of the issues on protection land use, production land use, settlements, infrastructure, and mechanics on scenario building. The workshop proper also focused on the scenario stories, strategies, proposed policies, and priority programs and projects. Through the consultation workshop, participants got to lay down plans to further improve the local government’s programs and services aligned with the current administration’s 8-Point Agenda as its framework for development.

Among the participants of the workshop was John Ray Cambaling from the Local Government Unit of Tinambac, Camarines Sur. He is the designated Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer in their LGU and the environment management specialist. According to him, he found the workshop relevant because it addressed the issues in the LGUs that are not seen or sometimes overlooked by the provincial and regional agencies.

Cambaling stated and emphasized the roles of LGUs in the said workshop. “LGU din ang nakakaalam kung ano ang kailangan at paano siya gagawin through the assistance of the provincial and regional agencies para mas maging progressive ang isang LGU,” he said.

“Importante din na nagkakasundo ang mga agencies sa provincial, regional and national pati na rin ang mga nasa private sectors like NGOs para mas ma-realize yung plans natin at ma-provide yung kinakailangan na support for the specific projects and those with potential for development para mabigyan ito ng budget for future progression,” he further added.  Cambaling hopes to prioritize other potential projects in LGUs to at least aid the betterment of the constituents and for the future of the province and the region.

The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, under the leadership of Governor Luigi Villafuerte, fully supports the initiatives and collaborations with LGUs and different agencies to provide a better quality of life to all Camarinenses.

“Gabos na plano ta will create a magnitude domino effect. Once these projects are realized, sunod-sunod na po ang pag-progess ng probinsya. It is time for CamSur and for the Bicol Region to reclaim our spot as the most progressive region in the country,” said Governor Luigi Villafuerte in his message.

While also highlighting all the priority projects and programs under his administration, especially the infrastructure projects that will bring progress to the province, the young and enthusiastic governor also expressed his support and encouraged the active participation of the stakeholders.

“As a governor, I humbly ask all the stakeholders present to fully support the activity, to fully support and express their gratitude to NEDA and RDC. Magtulungan po tayo. It is only when we are united and when we work together that we can build a better and brighter Bicol,” he concluded.
