Over 600 aspiring job applicants from all over the province made most of the opportunity in applying to local and overseas job vacancies opened at Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan Job and Business Fair on August 31 to September 1, 2022 at Capitol Convention Center, Capitol Complex, Cadlan, Pili.
The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur through CamSur Public Employment Services Office (PESO), conducted the two-day job and business fair to provide a one-stop shop for both local and overseas employment opportunities and access to government services such as Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fund, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) , Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) which processes documents essential for employment.
Moreover, the Southeast Asian Institute of Computer Technology (SEAict), the Provincial Government’s training and educational arm offering free trainings devoted to education and literacy in the field of information and communications technology was also present to cater the inquiries for enrollment in the short training courses accredited by TESDA.
So ngunyan po naka-imbitar kita nin 25 companies asin 7 overseas recruitment agencies from Manila pati an satuyang mga partner national government agencies,” said Rodresha Torallo, CamSur PESO Manager.
Around 4,000 local and overseas jobs were opened for the two-day job and business fair in which several aspiring job applicants were fortunately hired on the spot. Among the companies that was able to hire applicants on the spot was Add Even Manpower Resources and Solutions, Inc.
According to Errol Joshua Araneta, the Human Resource Representative of Add Even Manpower Resources and Solutions, Inc., “Ang kagandahan po ng ganitong activity lalo na for companies ay na reach namin yung target namin for manpower.
Among the applicants who tried his luck at the Job Fair was 42-year old Walter Buenavente from Sta. Cruz, Baa0 who was a former OFW in Saudi Arabia. He has not returned since then nor renewed his working visa for Saudi Arabia when he had to take care of his wife suffering from cancer. According to him, “Nandito po ako nagbakasali na makahanap ng trabaho sa category ko as HVAC Technician o kaya electrician.”
For former OFW like Buenavente, applying especially for overseas employment was made convenient for those in the provinces as they would no longer have to spend money for travel to Manila or find a place to stay to process their applications because it was the company or agency that went to our province to carry out their hiring activities. Grateful for the opportunities at the job fair, Buenavente thanked the Provincial Government for their efforts in bringing employment opportunities closer to the constituents.
Another enthusiastic applicant who tested his luck at the job fair was 24-year old Mark Greg Albalate from Poblacion 2, Gainza. He had previous job experiences in different national government agencies ever since he graduated and is currently looking for a new job opportunity that he could explore.
Buenavente and Albalate are just among the aspiring job applicants at the job fair with hopes of landing the job suitable to their skills and capabilities to be able to support their families. The Provincial Government ensures to bring more employment opportunities and support to Camarinenses to address the issues of poverty and unemployment in the province through this kind of programs.
