CamSur strengthens partnership with Intercare and IMU Malaysia, marks Year 3 with record-breaking Chiropractic Health Mission

Remaining true to its commitment to innovative, people-centered healthcare, the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, under the leadership of Governor Luis Raymund “LRay” Villafuerte, marked the third year of its partnership with Intercare and the International Medical University (IMU) of Malaysia through a record-breaking Chiropractic Health Mission held on January 29–30, 2026, at the Fuerte CamSur Sports Complex. The mission served 784 Camarinenses, the highest number of patients reached in the program’s three-year run.

First launched in CamSur in 2022 as part of the Provincial Government’s innovative public health initiative, the Chiropractic Health Mission aims to deliver quality care to people that would otherwise have limited access to such services.

Despite early stigma surrounding the practice, chiropractors from IMU Malaysia—hailing from Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, and the United States—worked to address misconceptions and build trust within the province. The success of these efforts is evident in the massive turnout at this year’s mission, which underscores the growing demand for accessible, specialized healthcare in the province.

“I availed of this Chiropractic Health Mission because I knew it would help with the soreness I constantly feel in my shoulders and the dull pain in my waist and lower back,” shared 54-year-old Vilma Condeza of San Antonio, Milaor.

A utility worker by profession, Condeza’s job involves strenuous physical labor and heavy lifting. Over the years, she has endured persistent body aches that never fully subsided despite regular checkups and massages, prompting her to take advantage of the free chiropractic services offered through the mission.

“After my session, I instantly felt relief. I even heard my lower back being adjusted,” she added, recalling the immediate improvement she experienced following the treatment.

Stories like Condeza’s highlight the impact of the mission, which provides much-needed care such as relief from back and neck pain, headaches, and muscle tension, while also improving mobility, posture, and overall physical function. These benefits resonate strongly with working Camarinenses, senior citizens, and individuals with physically demanding lifestyles.

“This is truly a big help—not only for me, but for everyone who availed of the service. If I had gone to a private clinic, it would have cost me so much. That’s why I am beyond thankful for programs like this,” Condeza added.

Alongside its daily medical missions across barangays and communities, the Chiropractic Health Mission reflects the Provincial Government’s broader health agenda, which prioritizes preventive care, accessibility, and innovation. With its overwhelming turnout and positive impact, the Chiropractic Health Mission proved to be a forward-thinking initiative, leaving many Camarinenses eagerly anticipating its return to the province.
