The Environment, Disaster Management, and Emergency Response Office (EDMERO) of the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur has extended its expertise beyond provincial boundaries by successfully conducting a five-day emergency response training program for the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Daraga, Albay.
Held from May 4 to 8, 2026, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Daraga, the training covered Basic Life Support–Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BLS-CPR) with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use, as well as Ambulance Operations and Management, equipping a new batch of responders with critical life-saving skills.
The program was initiated upon the formal request of LGU Daraga, underscoring the growing recognition of EDMERO CamSur’s training standards and the competence of its emergency responders, a reputation that continues to resonate beyond Camarines Sur.
“Humingi kami ng assistance sa EDMERO CamSur dahil naniniwala kami sa skills at kakayahan ng kanilang responders at trainers, na talagang worth emulating hindi lang locally kundi maging nationally and internationally,” said Engineer Bim Dineros, EnP, MDRRMO Head of LGU Daraga.
Throughout the five-day program, participants from various professional backgrounds underwent hands-on exercises, practical simulations, and live demonstrations focused on patient handling, proper AED usage, and ambulance operations. The immersive, competency-based approach aimed to strengthen responders’ confidence and enhance their readiness in addressing road crash incidents and other community emergencies.
Engr. Dineros emphasized the significance of the training for their personnel. “Malaking tulong ang training na ito sa aming bagong batch ng personnel upang mas maging handa, mas ma-enhance ang kanilang emergency response skills, at mas mapaglingkuran ang mga taga-Daraga lalo na sa panahon ng mga emergency,” he added.
Through cross-LGU collaborations such as this, the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur reaffirms its commitment to building safer and more resilient communities, not only within its own jurisdiction but across the Bicol Region, by championing disaster preparedness, emergency response excellence, and meaningful intergovernmental partnerships.
