Global creatives showcase talents in Draw CamSur, take home huge prizes

With the tagline, “CamSur is not just a place. It’s what’s drawn in your heart,” the Provincial Government launched the Draw CamSur Global Challenge—an online competition showcasing the province’s unique culture, landscapes, and stories through various creative mediums, including drawing or visual art, photography, and 15-second video.

The competition drew incredible talent from across the globe, celebrating the boundless creativity and vibrant spirit inspired by the province.

“This is part of our tourism, youth development, and arts and culture programs. Ipagpapatuloy po natin ang ganitong promotion, dahil isipin mo, malaking bagay ito sa mga nanalo at sa kanilang pamilya. At para ma-encourage [ang mga creatives na gamitin ang talent nila] na kung marinig nila ang [salitang] CamSur, ano yung nafe-feel or naiisip nila,” shared Governor Lray Villafuerte.

On July 3, 2026, Governor Villafuerte personally presented the awards to the official winners at the Tourism Building, Capitol Complex.

The official winners for each category are:

People’s Choice Award ($3,000) – Aemary Gallardo
Drawing/Visual Arts ($2,000) – Christian Carloto
Photography ($2,000) – Glenn Tiondo
15-Sec Video ($2,000) – Glorilyn Arnaiz

In addition to the cash prize, Arnaiz won an all-expense-paid trip for two (2) to CamSur, inclusive of roundtrip tickets and a 6-day, 7-night hotel accommodation.

Taking home the biggest prize of the competition, 22-year-old Aemary Gallardo from San Isidro, Pamplona, expressed overwhelming gratitude for the recognition. A fourth-year Architecture student at BISCAST, Gallardo’s keen eye for visual storytelling shone brightly in her winning piece.

Her entry, titled “CamSur Means to Me: INA,” deeply resonates with the province’s rich cultural heritage, deep-rooted traditions, and spiritual devotion.

“Ang meaning po kang [entry] ko is Ina and siya po ang nag-inspire sa composition kang artwork ko po. Digdi po ako sa CamSur nagdakula and mismong ang palibot, ang culture, iyo ang nagfe-feed sako, iyo din ang nagpadakula sako kaya po ako arog kani. For me, mayaman talaga ang CamSur—sa tao man o sa lugar. Kaipuhan lang talagang ipabisto sa buong mundo kung gano ini kagayon,” Gallardo shared.

Beyond this personal milestone, Gallardo plans to use her $3,000 prize to create a lasting impact in her community. She intends to invest a portion of her winnings into their local art shop and organization, which conducts creative workshops for the youth aimed at promoting mental health, spiritual well-being, and artistic expression.

“Importante pong maray ining platform pong ini ta naging storytelling ini na maipahiling si gusto ming maisabi kung gano kagayon ang CamSur through our drawing. Magayon po sa pagmati na na-express mi ini through art. Thank you po sa opportunity na itinao po nindo samuya. Ki Gov Lray po, thank you ta tigtatawan mo pong chance na maipahiling su mga tinatago ming talents and skills para ma-express and makatabang din sa probinsya,” Gallardo added.

The Draw CamSur Global Challenge has proven to be more than just a contest; it has provided creatives with a global platform to amplify their voices and showcase the heart of the province.
