The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, in partnership with Intercare and the International Medical University (IMU) of Malaysia, held its fourth chiropractic health mission and served 657 patients. The mission was held on August 14–15, 2026, at the Fuerte CamSur Sports Complex in Cadlan, Pili.

Twelve (12) chiropractors came from IMU Malaysia and six (6) from the Australian Chiropractic College, while seven (7) personnel represented Intercare.

According to Dr. Natalie Chin Ziqing, Lecturer and Chiropractor from the School of Alternative and Complementary Medicine at IMU Malaysia, chiropractic care can help a person move better. She explained that chiropractic care improves mobility, reduces pain, and eases muscle and joint stiffness, allowing people to perform daily activities more comfortably.

Addressing the stigma surrounding chiropractic care online, Dr. Natalie said, “First and foremost, I'd like to say that chiropractic is very safe. What you see online may not be a full-fledged chiropractor who has gone through five years of studies.”

On her returning to the Philippines for the third time, she shared, “I feel the need to help you guys a lot because you are very nice people. You don't really have access to chiropractic care, and I would like you to experience chiropractic care. Hopefully, we can make a difference here in the Philippines.”

Salvador Soñeja, 52, of San Felipe, Naga City, availed himself of the free chiropractic care after learning about it from a friend. He sought treatment for frozen shoulder and occasional back pain, which he said were especially noticeable in the morning.

Initially nervous about chiropractic treatment, Soñeja was reassured by the professionals from Malaysia and Australia. He said, “Medyo nabawasan po ang sakuyang kulog sa frozen shoulder. Naging minimal naman siya. After that, nagtao man [pong advise] si nag-chiro sako na gibuhon ko po ining exercise na dawa nasa harong po ako, i-continue ko man giraray siya para luway-luway na talaga siya mawara.”

"Bibihira po ining serbisyo kasi mahalon po talaga ining serbisyong arog kaini kumpara duman sa mga private po baga,” he added. 

Through the growing partnership between the Provincial Government, Intercare, and IMU Malaysia, healthcare services such as chiropractic care are now delivered to those who cannot otherwise afford them. Under the leadership of Governor Lray Villafuerte, CamSur remains committed to delivering quality and accessible healthcare services to Camarinenses.
