Writer: Jerimae Sanchez and Mary Fe De Vergara

As the first day of this year’s Brigada Eskwela kicked off, the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur through the Provincial Health Office, wasted no time in rolling out a series of medical, dental, and optical missions across the province, bringing much-needed healthcare services directly to the people.

Modern mobile clinics including the Dental Clinic on Wheels, Laboratory Diagnostic Bus, Women’s Wellness on Wheels, Hospital on Wheels, Express Lab, and Eye Clinic on Wheels were simultaneously deployed to various barangays in Lupi, Libmanan, Canaman, Calabanga, Buhi, Lagonoy, Presentacion, Tinambac, Siruma, Milaor, Pili, and Iriga City, reaching hundreds of residents with free health consultations and services.

One of the beneficiaries was Marvin Aguila, a solo parent from San Isidro, Pili, who took his two children to the medical mission at Pili West Central School on June 9, 2025. His five-year-old son is recovering from recurring stomach pain, while his four-year-old daughter is dealing with a swollen foot, making the free consultation a crucial opportunity for their family.

“Maray pong tabang ini ta dae na ako mabakal nin bulong ta gurano man baga ini sa botika, dae na po ako magastos. Dakulang pasasalamat ko po ta igwang arog kaining programa an Gobyerno Probinsyal na nakakatabang samuya,” Aguila shared.

Meanwhile, in Colacling, Lupi, the Buntis Day Medical Mission became a source of hope for Arnie Alfante, a first-time mom who availed of the free ultrasound service. She shared that the experience during the June 10 medical mission eased many of her worries as she prepared to welcome her baby this month.

"First baby ko po ini, kaya dakula po talagang tabang na may libreng arog kaini. Nakakakaba pero excited ako, syempre happy din po ako, kasi at least naaraman ko na healthy po an baby," she shared.

The Buntis Day Medical Mission continues to offer vital prenatal care to pregnant women, especially in far-flung communities, providing free ultrasounds, vitamins, health check-ups, and maternal health education.

This week, the Provincial Government’s medical teams also rounded up various communities across Camarines Sur, delivering free dental services, laboratory tests, eye care, wellness services, and maternal health support. Among the municipalities reached include Sipocot, Libmanan, Canaman, Calabanga, Buhi, Lagonoy, Presentacion, Tinambac, Iriga City, San Fernando, and Siruma.

Through these continuous community-based health missions, the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur reaffirms its commitment to making healthcare accessible to everyone.
