The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur under the dynamic leadership of Governor Luigi Villafuerte, in partnership with Veragon Technologies, held the Groundbreaking Ceremony of CamSur Manufacturing Hub on February 26, 2025, at the Capitol Complex, Cadlan, Pili.

Along with Camarines Sur Governor Villafuerte were CamSur 2nd District Representative Lray Villafuerte, Veragon Technologies CEO Dr. Alessio Lucattelli, Business Development Director Stephen White, Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian, and Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque.

The Provincial Government has partnered with Veragon Technologies to establish the country’s first atmospheric water generator (AWG) manufacturing facility. This 1,500 square meter state-of-the-art facility converts air humidity into clean, mineralized drinking water.

“Today, we mark not only the beginning of an innovative venture, but it is also a testament to the growing partnership between Camarines Sur and the visionary global leaders committed to sustainable development here in the Philippines,” the governor shared.

He added, “With the addition of Veragon’s air-to-water facility here in CamSur, we are becoming a beacon of renewable energy and environmental stewardship. This development brings tremendous benefits, creating jobs, stimulating local businesses, and enhancing our infrastructures. But more importantly, they lay the groundwork for a greener, more resilient future for our children and the generations to come.”

Governor Villafuerte also underscored that the adoption of technology and sustainability through the air-to-water facility will also help in addressing water scarcity, especially during calamities when access to clean, safe, and potable water is most critical. By harnessing the air-to-water technology, the facility will ensure security and resilience, empowering communities to withstand the impacts of natural disasters.

The groundbreaking ceremony was officially kicked-off with a ribbon cutting, signing of the blueprint, and the lowering of a time capsule. To experience firsthand the features of the air-to-water facility, ceremonial water tasting was also held where guests and officials tried the clean mineralized drinking water, produced directly from the AWGs.

“Our air-to-water technology is used in many villages. What is special about today is the capability to bring our knowledge, our expertise, and our know-how to this region. So we are not just shipping a product from abroad; we are going to manufacture it here where it is needed, and that’s for us is priceless!” shared Dr. Lucatelli.

“At Veragon, we believe that water should not be a privilege. Water should be accessible for all the people.  The purpose of being here is to make these units and these solutions available where it is needed,” he furthered.

Having partnered with an organization that shared the same vision of putting the province into a hub for technological innovation, Governor Villafuerte is confident in building a better and more sustainable Camarines Sur.
