To prepare students for their senior high school journey and the career paths they may pursue, the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, through its Public Employment Service Office (PESO), in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Pasacao and Juan F. Triviño Memorial High School (JFTMHS), conducted the Career Development Support Program on December 9, 2025, in Caranan, Pasacao, Camarines Sur.
A total of 206 Grade 10 students from JFTMHS actively participated in the program. CamSur PESO discussed several key topics, including choosing the right track and strand in Senior High School, in-demand jobs, the First Time Jobseekers Assistance Act (RA 11261), résumé writing, tips for a successful job interview, and the foundations of success— covering ethics, values, and professional excellence in the modern world.
Grade 10 student Kesha Emiel N. Ariate, one of the participants, shared that she was initially hesitant to choose the General Academic Strand for senior high school, but the discussions from CamSur PESO helped her make a confident decision. She added that the program was a great help to many students who were unsure of what to pursue in Senior High School and even in college.
When asked about what she wants to pursue in college, Ariate shared that she has several options in mind, but two stood out: Psychology, because she is interested in the profession, and Philosophy, because she wants to inspire people.
“Thank you very much for coming here today, and for sharing many learnings— for teaching us things we must know and things we didn’t know. Through the talks today, it really helped us understand the future paths we can take and what we can do in the future,” Ariate gratefully said.
The Career Development Support Program of CamSur PESO continues to reach schools and municipalities across the province to help students understand different career paths, industries, and job opportunities, especially in today’s modern world. The program also guides learners in determining how senior high school tracks, college courses, or vocational programs align with the specific careers they aspire to pursue.
