With its steadfast commitment to education, the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, through the Ka Fuerte Educational Assistance Program, distributed over P82 million in educational aid through cash and cheque to more than 7,000 new and continuing scholars from various universities and colleges across the province. The two-day distribution was held on October 13–14, 2025 at the Fuerte CamSur Sports Complex, Cadlan, Pili.
A total of 4,830 provincial scholars received over ₱26 million in cash aid on October 13, followed by 2,260 students who were awarded over ₱56 million worth of cheques on October 14, 2025.
This initiative underscores the provincial government’s unwavering support for education, helping students shoulder their educational expenses and pursue their academic aspirations without the burden of financial constraints.
“Ang futuro kan probinsya nakasalalay po saindo gabos. Ang itataong scholarship ngunyan na aldaw, 'yan ay hindi lang tseke o cash, ito ang nagtataong pag-asa saindo asin saindong pamilya. Sana seryosuhon po nindo an saindong pag-adal. Dawa kadakol kamong inaagihan na kadipisilan, magtiyaga asin magpursige. Mayong imposible. Ilagay n’yo sa isip at sa puso n’yo, kaya natin ‘yan,” Governor Lray Villafuerte said, inspiring scholars to remain determined and resilient in the pursuit of their education.
During the event, the governor also underscored several major programs and projects currently being implemented, including the CamSur Iconic Capitol Building, School of the Future, CamSur School of the Arts and Culture, the Gemini Academy in partnership with Google Philippines, and the development of an AI Laboratory under the Smarter CamSur initiative. These projects aim to cultivate a more educated, innovative, and empowered generation of Camarinenses, reinforcing the province’s vision of providing accessible and quality education for all.
Among the scholars of the province is Mark Anthony Guevarra from Potot, Libmanan, who is currently pursuing his master’s degree at the University of Saint Anthony in Iriga City. Upon receiving his cheque, he shared, “Dakulaon po ining tabang. Dai kaya kang sarong ordinaryong tawo lang na arog ko na mapaluwas ako ning sadiring kwarta, kasi enot na enot, may pamilya man akong pigtatabangan. Dai ko kayang i-shoulder lang iniyo. Kaya ining programang pigtao ni Gov. Lray Villafuerte, dakulaon na tabang talaga samong mga tios asin normal lang na nabubuhay.”
He further expressed his gratitude, saying, “Sa Provincial Government headed by Gov. Lray Villafuerte, mabuhay ka po! Salamat sa inciatibo na arog kaini na padagos niyang pigpapadagos. Salamat po.”
