The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in partnership with the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, awarded sewing machines and baking kits to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the province on February 23, 2023 at the Evacuation Center, Maycatmon, Milaor.
Gracing the activity were Governor Luigi Villafuerte and Provincial Director Jay Percival Ablan of DTI CamSur who personally led the awarding ceremony.
With over 1.8 million worth of assistance, 215 sewing machines and 10 baking kits were awarded to various MSMEs and several individuals in the province who are planning to start their own small business.
Starting one’s own business is indeed a challenge. From complying all the paper works to purchasing equipment and materials can be a struggle particularly to those with limited starting capital.

Apart from receiving her very own sewing machine, Regachuelo is also one of the scholars of the Ka Fuerte Skills Training Program who took up Dressmaking NCII. According to her, not only did the Provincial Government provide her with the essential equipment in starting her own business, it also equipped her with necessary training to ensure her success.
In his message during the activity, Governor Luigi challenged the beneficiaries to make use of the sewing machines and baking kits to help the growth of their businesses in order to give back to their families and their communities.
