The PDRRMC Basketball and Volleyball League officially opened on July 7, 2025, at the Fuerte CamSur Sports Complex. Running through July 7 to 31, the league brings together 20 basketball and 10 volleyball teams from various government offices, uniformed personnel, and municipal DRRM councils. This event not only showcases athletic talent but also champions the spirit of disaster readiness and resilience.

The opening ceremony was graced by Governor Lray Villafuerte, who motivated both athletes and spectators with his message on the importance of collaboration—not just on the court, but in fostering disaster-resilient communities. As a special highlight, the Governor announced an increase in the league’s cash prizes, further heightening the excitement and motivating all participants to give their best effort throughout the tournament.
