The Governor Mariano E. Villafuerte Community College (GMVCC) Libmanan held the Pinning Ceremony for their graduating students and the Recognition of March and September 2024 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) Passers on January 15, 2025 at the Handiong Cultural Center in Libmanan. 

A total of 217 fourth-year students taking Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED) Major in Automotive, Electrical, and Electronics Technology were proudly presented on stage. Their nameplates were pinned by their parents and guardians. 

With the theme, “Igniting Futures: Empowering Educators for Tomorrow’s Leaders,” the said ceremony signified the start of the students’ pre-service teaching at various schools for their internship. On January 20, 2025, the students were deployed to different cooperating schools in Libmanan, Sipocot, Pamplona, and Cabusao.

“Today is a testament of your years of hard work, commitment, and perseverance. This marks a significant milestone in your journey as you’re about to transition from a student to a student-teacher. This only proves that you have attained the needed competencies to practice your chosen profession,” shared Maricel Peñero, College Administrator of GMVCC Libmanan. 

She added, “As you’re about to assume a new role, remember that this is not the end but rather the start of a meaningful chapter to become effective teachers who will be responsible for the younger generations. May you continuously embody the values, ideals, and standards that our school has imparted to you.”

Ronnie Rubi, Ed. D., Professor IV of BISCAST and the Guest Speaker during the ceremony, also gave his earnest message and reminders to students. “To our teacher-interns, this pinning ceremony symbolizes your noble journey, which means that you are no longer an ordinary individual. You will be observing the practice of being a teacher; you will act like a true teacher. When you enter your classroom, and when you walk everywhere, always remember that you are a teacher. You should refine yourself in language and in your action because you will be demonstrating the kind of values expected of a teacher.” 

He added, “Remember, educators, you are more than conveyors of knowledge; you are mentors, role models, and dream weavers. And as the world grows, so does education, embrace the innovation, adapt to change, and remain steadfast in your commitment to life-long learning.”

One of the student interns was 26-year-old Mike Marfil from Uson, Libmanan. For him, studying at GMVCC is a realized hope. “I study in GMVCC Libmanan not because of my friends here, but because I was amazed by the graduates here who passed the LET. I saw how unique the school is and how great the teachers here are. Besides, we can actually save money since the school is tuition-free and the location is within easy reach. Thus, what we only think of is our daily allowances,” he shared.

“I took the automotive course because of my passion for motor vehicles and, of course, my passion for teaching. I really wanted to become a teacher! I once took another course, specifically criminology, and ended up unmotivated because that is not where my passion belongs. If given a chance, I wanted to teach here in GMVCC once I become a [full-pledged] teacher,” added Marfil.

GMVCC Libmanan also honored their 29 alumni who passed the March and September 2024 LET. Such achievement only proved that the institution is continuously producing achievers with their quality tertiary education.

The same ceremonies were also held at Baao Community College (BCC) and GMVCC Garchitorena for their students’ internships. The pinning ceremony is a representation of the student-teachers’ acknowledgement and acceptance of their responsibility as future teachers.
