“The trees that we are planting today marks the future of the environment, marks the future of our home,” Gov Luigi Villafuerte remarked during CamSur’s Tree Growing Activity at Bicol Natural Park
The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office - Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte, and Protected Area Office - Bicol Natural Park, conducted the Tree Growing Activity, in celebration 2024 Environment Month and Philippine Arbor Day, on June 25, 2024 at the Bicol Natural Park. 🌳
8,000 community members, volunteers, and the youth, as well as representatives from different government offices and agencies simultaneously planted 12,000 seedlings of native trees at the open and deforested areas of the BNP in Barangay Sooc, Lupi.
The tree growing activity is the start of the efforts of the Provincial Government, a member of the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB), to plant more native trees across 500 hectares of the deforested areas of the BNP.

The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur through the Provincial Health Office Cam Sur (PHO) has recently launched the Serbisyo Ka Fuerte Handog Kay Nanay, a priority program of Gov Luigi Villafuerte that aims to provide medical and social services to the province's pregnant women. 🩺💊
"An purpose po kan programang ini para po mapangataman po an salud kan mga bados," said Eden Saralde, program coordinator of PHO, explaining that the program primarily aims to take care of the health of CamSur's pregnant women and attend to their needs by providing them with medical services such as prenatal checkup, 4D ultrasound, urinalysis, and blood chemistry – all free of charge.
Apart from the medical services, the participating pregnant women also received pregnancy milk, sacks of rice, and vitamins. They also get to have a pamper day with free haircut, and manicure and pedicure available.
According to Saralde, PHO is set to visit every municipality with a target to serve a minimum of 100 pregnant women per day.
The Provincial Government of CamSur is continuously making rounds to serve more pregnant women in need.

Due to its location and terrain, the province of CamSur is highly vulnerable to natural calamities including typhoons, floods, storm surges, and landslides. While strengthening its response team through skills training remains a priority for the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, the MoCCoV will be highly instrumental as it will increase the capabilities of CamSur’s responders.
