The Camsur Peso, OWWA Bicol, LGU Calabanga, and other partner agencies, conducted Learning Sessions for the OFW Children Circle for 64 Grade 12 students of Calabanga National Science High School. The activity aimed to provide guidance and support to students, particularly children of Overseas Filipino Workers, in navigating both personal and career-related challenges.

“It will definitely help us students in applying for work in the future. I learned how to apply properly and understand the skills and requirements needed for my future career,” shared John Brix S. Iñigo, one of the student participants.

Echoing this, the sessions provided students with hands-on guidance on proper job application processes, understanding employer expectations, and identifying the skills needed in their chosen career paths—helping them become more confident and prepared as they take their first steps into the workforce.

This initiative forms part of the province’s continued commitment to empowering the youth by equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and support systems as they prepare for life beyond high school.

Description:

The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, led by Governor Lray Villafuerte, and the Department of Agriculture Bicol, together with key national agencies, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the Integrated Rice Recovery and Rural Agro-Industrial Development Program. This initiative aims to address the effects of natural disasters and the long-term use of inorganic inputs, which have caused soil degradation, unstable harvests, and financial hardship among local farmers.

The program brings together multiple government agencies, including the DA as the co-lead, DSWD, NIA, DAR, CDA, DOLE, PCIC, TESDA, and various LGUs, each contributing technical, financial, and institutional support. This convergence approach ensures coordinated implementation and efficient use of resources.

The project will initially cover 3,000 hectares across eight rice-producing municipalities: Minalabac, San Fernando, Milaor, Pamplona, Pasacao, Gainza, Bula, and Pili. It aims to strengthen farmer income, promote rural enterprise, and build long-term food security and economic resilience in Camarines Sur.

“Saro po ini sa dakulang tabang sa samuya na nahiling ming pwedeng makapagtao nin dakulang kaginhawaan kan samuyang mga paraoma. Dahil po digdi, tinawanan na po kami nin pondo na panggastos sa samuyang uma," shared Wilfredo Pilapil, one of the beneficiaries.
