A Saturday well spent para sa ating mga magsasaka at para sa kinabukasan ng CamSur!

We started the day in Pili inspecting the Bicol Mega Cold Storage Facility — a joint project of the DA and the Province of CamSur. From breaking ground last June to full operation this December (in just 6 months!), this will soon be the biggest in Southern Luzon. Isa itong malaking hakbang para gawing agri-industrial food hub ang CamSur.

From there, we joined the 1st Bicol Cacao Congress — bringing together farmers, private sector, LGUs, and the academe to strengthen the cacao industry in Bicol.

We then capped the day with a farmers’ consultation and dialogue kasama si DA Sec. Kiko Tiu Laurel. Dito, malayang nakapagtanong at nakapagbigay ng hinaing ang ating mga magsasaka — at direkta naming sinagot. Nag-distribute din tayo ng bagong farm equipment , nagbigay ng cash assistance , at patuloy na nag-commit na gawing mas moderno, mas episyente, at mas productive ang kanilang pagsasaka.

Dahil sa huli, ang magsasaka ang ating lifeblood. Without them, walang pagkain sa ating hapag at walang kinabukasan ang ating bansa.
